As an introduction to our softball club, we welcome new players to come down to the field and join us for Sunday morning open batting practice. We encourage new players to attend open batting practice prior to their new player (Green Team) evaluation. You must be a resident of Sun City, have a valid recreation card, and sign a waiver prior to practice. Please see the club’s website calendar for batting practice dates and times.
When a new player is ready for their Green Team evaluation, a date will be scheduled for their evaluation through the Green Team Manager. A panel of approved softball club raters will rate new players based on their skill level. After the new player is rated, the player is entered into the appropriate league. Our club has 3 leagues available depending upon a player’s skill level. American league being the highest skill level (1-3 rating), Central league (4-6 rating) and the National league (7-9 rating).
Note: If you’re new to softball league play, please do not purchase a softball bat until you talk with other club members or the Green Team Manager about the approved softball bats. Softball bats are required to have the USA or ASA identification logo located on the bat to play at Del Webb Field. Please see below for additional new player information:
- Sun City Softball Club website: www.suncitysb.org
- Sun City Softball League home page for information and updates.
- Del Webb Field calendar for field events and field closures on the club website.
